Zempt 0.3 was just released yesterday and includes a whole bunch of changes including offline operation, spell checking, and better account management. It also includes plugins for Winamp and Windows Media player which will insert your current song in your web post. Currently, I'm not listening to anything :(, so it doesn't matter. But it's still cool.
Dave Winer is sketching out a concept for a Subscriptions Harmonizer web service. The idea is to keep your aggregators in sync with each other when run from multiple locations (home, office, laptop, etc.). I commented that my old FTPStore hack for AmphetaDesk is quite similar. Back in May, I caught wind of the Sony-Ericsson T608 Bluetooth phone being available soon to Sprint PCS customers. This looked like the perfect phone upgrade for me (and my Palm Tungsten T), but alas I read today that it's being cancelled. Back to the drawing board for picking a new phone. This weekend my father and I went to the Nascar Winston Cup race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma — the Dodge Save Mart 350. We had a great time and enjoyed watching the race live, especially the close battle between Jeff Gordon and Robby Gordon for the last 20 laps or so. The last time I saw a Nascar race was probably 10 years ago. With new track ownership and the Infineon sponsorship deal, they've really upgraded the facility. Whether due to leaked pictures or to get people excited about the pending acquisition of Handspring by Palm, Handspring is now showing a sneak peak at the Treo 600. This looks like it could be a real winner. As have mentioned, this would be a perfect mobile device for updating your weblog or photoblog. There should be some great software opportunities here.
